By now you've probably seen the video of the Texas TV news reporter rapping before a live news report that blew up online a few weeks ago. The unexpected rise to fame for her mad skills has landed her an appearance on a national TV show, with an opportunity to perform with a singing legend.

Kim Powell, a reporter for NewsWest 9 News in Midland, Texas, blew up the internet with a video of her rendition of Blackalicious’ “Alphabet Aerobics” as a warm-up before a live shot for a newscast. Powell has admitted that rapping before getting on camera has been a part of her routine since studying journalism at Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota. She says that usually she only gets a couple lines in before being interrupted, but this time around, her camera person allowed her to get through the entire song. The rest is internet history.

Since her rise to internet fame, Kim says she has been overwhelmed by the attention on social media. She has even accepted an opportunity to appear on the Rachael Ray show to perform. She took to her Facebook page to make the announcement about the invite, intimating that she would be sharing the stage with a singing legend. Check out the video below to see who she will be performing with.

Here's the rap that launched Kim into the internet spotlight.
