Rochester Police K9 Honors Duluth Police Haas with New Armor
A Rochester Police K9 officer is protected now in memory of killed Duluth K9 Haas.
Titan, one of Rochester's Police K9 officers, is now working with a bullet and stab proof vest from donations made to from the non-profit group Vested Interest in K9s. The new vest is embroidered with, "In memory of K9 Haas, Duluth Police Department, MN”.
Vested Interest in K9s has donated more than 4,000 vests to law enforcement dogs, over 1,300 K9 opioid reversal NARCAN kits, and much more. You can get more information about the non-profit and learn how to adopt a vest here.
Each 4-5-pound vest costs anywhere from $1,744 - $,283 and Vested Interest in K9s says a donation of $960 will sponsor one vest for a working K9 officer.
Duluth Police K9 Haas was killed in the line of duty in January of 2019 while responding to a domestic assault with a weapon call on West Skyline Parkway. Since his death, many fundraisers have happened and several vests have been donated in the K9's honor.
