WDIO reported that Federal Authorities have recovered a pair of Ruby Red Slippers worn by Judy Garland in the movie "The Wizard of Oz"  that were stolen from the Judy Garland Museum 13 years ago.

The Museum which is located in Grand Rapids had the slippers in a glass case, but someone broke in through a window of the museum and broke the case to steal them back in 2005. The shoes were insured for $1 million.

The Grand Rapids Police Department has been working with the FBI on the case, the slippers were recovered in Minneapolis sometime this summer.  The FBI currently has possession of the famous "shoes" and the FBI is set to make a public announcement from Minneapolis later today about the recovery of the slippers.

There are actually four pairs of these Ruby Red Slippers in existence and they are made of many different materials including sequins and glass beads. Obviously these slippers are one of a kind and of a historic nature. I am just glad to hear they got them back and am interested to find out who took them and where they have been all of these years?
