The 2018 National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday April 28th. This National event is a partnered effort with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and local law enforcement agencies across the US, teaming up to combat the opioid epidemic.

This event was created to enhance awareness to the public about the dangers of prescription drugs and also to set up a way for people to easily dispose of expired medications or one they do not use anymore.

The state of Minnesota has been hit hard by this epidemic as have many places around the U.S. and part of the way to combat this is for these drugs to be properly disposed of. Since the start of this event over 9 million pounds of prescription drugs have been safely collected for disposal. In October 2017 this event collected 13 tons of unwanted medications in Minnesota alone!

On Saturday April 28, 2018 from 10 AM to 2 PM please stop by the Public Safety Building 2030 N. Arlington Ave,in Duluth to surrender any unwanted or expired prescription drugs. For more information Click Here
