A rash of tornados broke out in southern Minnesota on September 20, they hit the cities of Morristown, Faribault and the Waterville area where the Kamp Dels campground is located.
While it was technically the last day of spring, sweltering summer-like heat and humidity spawned a line of severe thunderstorms that dropped hail reportedly as large as baseballs in some areas of Northern Minnesota and produced a couple tornado warnings - one in the Brainerd area and the other near Grand Rapids.
The first full day of Summer brought with it some bumpy weather for the Twin Ports region. Strong early morning storms brought heavy rain, wind, and hail and a second round in the afternoon brought what appears to be a funnel cloud to Duluth.
