Target Announces Holiday Plans – Most Toys are Under $20 – More New Products
Like it or not, we are rapidly approaching the holiday shopping season, and retailers are gearing up for a busy season, and hope to draw in shoppers with deals, deals, deals.
Today, Target announced some of their holiday plans, with includes changes to "Target Circle Week", new exclusive products, and a massive hiring spree.

Popular Promotion Returns
The popular "Target Circle Week" promotion will give shoppers an early jump on deal hunting for the holiday season when it returns October 6th - October 12th. The promotion will also include the "deal of the day", with new one-day-only deals available each day of Target Circle Week.
The deal of the day will also return on November 1st and run through the remainder of the holiday season. Target says, "consumers can expect more deals throughout the holiday season."
New Products - Lower Prices
Target says they will stock more new products for the holiday season, they say that there will be 50% more new items compared to last holiday season.
They will also be offering more affordable holiday items, for instance, they claim that more than half of all the toys offered this year will be under $20. And they will feature over 1,000 new toys from brands like LEGO, Disney, and more.
For those that do stocking stuffers, Target says their Bullseye's Playground value section, located right inside the front doors, will be stocked with "50 gifts for the family under $5."
Holiday decorations, activities, and food will also be priced lower, more than half of Target branded food and beverage items will be priced under $5, and 80% of the "Target Wondershop" holiday items will be under 10 bucks. My wallet already feels some relieve.
Exclusive Products and Partnerships
One of the big trends in retail is exclusive items, and Target will be the home for several items that will only be available from the Minnesota-based retailer. The highly-anticipated movie 'Wicked' will be featured at Target with upcoming merch and experiences.
Target says it will also "offer more than 100 new and exclusive beauty gifting items from brands like Papatui, Being Frenshe and fine'ry."
Adding Seasonal Staff
To make all this holiday magic possible, Target says it's adding 10,000 seasonal workers to its payroll. Target says more than half of last year's seasonal employees were offered jobs to stay with the company. Seasonal hiring starts on September 25th, you can get more info here.
