6 Wisconsin Target Stores Participating In Taylor Swift’s Revival Of Music Tradition

When was the last time you can remember someone rushing to a store to get a physical copy of a new album the day it came out?

Yeah, it's been quite some time for me, too.

The once-popular trend of a "doorbuster" release, with fans anxiously awaiting getting their hands on a copy of a new album, is something people might remember doing in decades gone by. It has since faded away in the era of streaming music. It sounds like it will be making a comeback this fall - including at a handful of Wisconsin stores.

Taylor Swift has teamed up with Target for the release of her highly anticipated new album, "Life of a Showgirl," for a special in-store release event at select stores around the country.

Only 500 stores around the country will be opening up at midnight on October 3 for fans to get a hold of a physical copy of Taylor's new album. Not only will the standard-edition release be available, but exclusive collectible editions you'll only be able to get at Target will also be on hand.

Of the 500 stores across the country, only 6 Wisconsin Target locations will be part of the special release event. Those stores include:

Eau Claire, WI - 3649 S Hastings Way, Eau Claire, WI

Janesville, WI - 2017 Humes Rd, Janesville, WI

LaCrosse, WI - 9400 State Road 16, Onalaska, WI

Madison West - 201 Junction Rd, Madison, WI

New Berlin, WI - 4798 S Moorland Rd, New Berlin, WI

Pleasant Prairie, WI - 9777 76th St, Pleasant Prairie, WI

Each of these stores will be opening at midnight on October 3 and staying open through the day until their normal closing time that night.

Along with rushing into the store and waiting in line, there is also an option to preorder your Taylor Swift album, including exclusive editions with collectible posters and more, on the Target website. It is worth mentioning that Target is limiting preorders and purchases to 4 per customer.
