The Animal Allies Pet Of The Week is a beautiful young dog named Flora. She is 41 pounds, has a black and white coat, and is a mixed breed who is about 4 years old. She was transferred to Animal Allies from a different shelter in the hopes that she will find a new loving home.

Like many animals at the shelter Flora required some medical attention upon arrival to the shelter she was diagnosed with heart worm but is currently being medicated to help combat the disease. She has been thoroughly examined by the shelter veterinarian is updated on all her shots, has been spayed and microchipped as well.

Flora according to the shelter staff is a sweet dog who loves to be around people. Although she is a little shy at first and fairly independent once she gets to know you she warms up very quickly and loves to play with toys. She will need to be in a home where initially she is kept as calm as possible while she recovers from her heartworm treatments.
