The Animal Allies Pet of the week is an adorable little guy named Muffin. He is a 10 year old apricot colored Chihuahua mix who came to Animal Allies from a previous home. I am not sure the circumstances of how he ended up at the shelter, but knowing how chihuahuas are this has to be a very tough transition for him. This breed is very loyal to their owners and become very attached, so a lot of patience and love will need to be devoted to this beautiful dog.

He is a little overweight so it will be very important to help him shed a few pounds, this breed of dog is so small and all that extra weight can be very taxing on their little bodies, but he is a total sweetheart and I am sure will adjust nicely to any loving home. He enjoys lounging around and is not opposed to being carried which may happen at first when you go on walks. Please ask a volunteer or shelter staff to take him out of his kennel for a visit, depending on the weather you can go outside or in one of the visitation rooms to give him the chance to get to know you.

Muffin has been neutered, vet checked , microchipped and is updated on all his shots, if you would like to meet him in person please stop by Animal Allies at 4006 Airport Road in Duluth , call at (218) 722-5341 or go online www.animalallies.net.
