The Animal Allies pet of the week is a big guy named Thomas "The Tank" as I affectionately call him. Thomas is a brown and white American Shelter dog who is 7 years old, he is a big boy at over 70 pounds but he is very gentle. Thomas has been through some things in his life, much of which the folks at Animal Allies are not sure of but based on some of his scars and his initial shyness, he sadly has been through something.

Thomas is a great dog for the right person, he was adopted but was brought back to the shelter because he was not fond of one of the males living in the house. This is an important tale to tell. Thomas is very shy at first but once he gets to know you he will knock you down for kisses. Trust is a huge thing for all creatures large and small, and sometimes we can't explain why a certain dog does not seem to like somebody.

Animal Allies encourages for all adoptions that everyone living in the house or frequent visitors come with to meet the dogs at the shelter if possible, which can sometimes help to avoid incidents like this past adoption. Thomas has been neutered, he is micro chipped, updated on all his shots and vet checked. Please give this amazing dog a chance by stopping by to meet him yourself.
