A baby giraffe was welcomed to the Como Zoo last month, and now the towering baby has a name.

Visitors to the zoo were invited to vote over the long MEA weekend and the winning name was...(drumroll)...Sota.

The zoo says that over 2300 ballots were submitted and Sota was the winner with 43% of the vote, followed by Elliott with 37% and Fonzie with 20% of the votes.

The male giraffe was born at the zoo, the 23rd giraffe birth at Como, on September 10th at 6’ 4” tall and 160 pounds. Sota is on display now at the Como Zoo in St. Paul.
