The flood of 2012 has gone down in the history books and hopefully will stay that way for a very long time, but the financial repercussions continue to come to a boil.

According to a government audit, the city of Duluth may be on the hook to pay back Federal Emergency Management Agency( FEMA) $1.2 million dollars that the city received after the flood. Duluth received a total of $13 million dollars in Federal Aid, but the audit found that the City of Duluth did not properly follow Federal procurement standards with the $1.5 million in question.

In a statement the city of Duluth claims to have acted in good faith and does not agree with the recommendations.
