The original members of "The Revolution" and other artists (Dez Dickerson and Andr'e Cymone) played the first of three Sold Out shows at First Avenue in Minneapolis last night.

For anyone who is too young to know who The Revolution is, take a quick peek at the movie Purple Rain, all of the band members (Wendy, Lisa, Dr. Fink, Bobby Z and Brown Mark)  were part of Princes band from 1982-1985. He had many personnel changes throughout the years, but obviously all of these artists still hold a special place in their hearts for him.

After Prince had passed away the members of the band posted a video on Facebook saying that will do a tribute show and to have it at First Avenue was incredibly fitting. Being a life long fan of Prince this makes my heart full to see them all come together to give fans one last hurrah at hearing these songs played live at the club that put Prince on the map.

The shows tonight and tomorrow are Sold Out, but you can attend an after party at First Avenue for $10.00 with special guest Quest Love from "The Roots."
