Trampled by Turtles Plays Surprise Concert in Duluth
The 20th Homegrown Music Festival is in full swing with some great bands playing around town, but the biggest show during the festival this year was a surprise.
Duluth's own Trampled by Turtles shocked fans by putting a post on Instagram last night with a photo of the Pizza Luce door with a sign that said they were closed for a private event, and above that was a pizza box with Trampled By Turtles, 21+, ID required written by hand.
The band is releasing a new album on Friday called 'Life is Good on the Open Road' and will be kicking off a tour the same night in St. Paul at the Palace Theatre, the show is sold out.
During the performance, they played songs from their new album and mixed in some crowd favorites.
Trampled by Turtles will headline a festival-style concert on Saturday, July 7th at Bayfront. Tickets are still available for that show, tickets are $25 + fees.
Duluth Mayor Emily Larson, who was at the show, posted on Facebook "Thanks for the visit & for giving us a chance to hear you again."
