Throwback 90s country music is having a moment right now, with the likes of Post Malone and Morgan Wallen embracing the sound (and look) and singers like Ella Lagnley bringing those same vibes beyond the country music world onto the pop music charts.

A legendary voice from that 90s country music era was just announced as the headliner for a music event for a Northern Minnesota town's annual summer festival this year.

The Two Harbors Heritage Day has made a bit of a tradition of embracing throwback country music as the centerpiece of the annual North Shore community's summer festival.

The last few years, the 1970s and 80s duo The Bellamy Brothers have provided a fun, free show that drew a huge crowd for a street dance. This year, the event's organizers are brining in a new act to headline the night of music during the 2026 Two Harbors Heritage Days.

They announced today that the headliner for the 2026 "Rockin' The Docks" free summer concert, also known as the Heritage Days Street Dance, will be Sammy Kershaw.

Kershaw came onto the scene in the later half of the 1980s, but didn't really become a household name until the 1990s with hits like "Cadillac Style", "She Don't Know She's Beautiful", and "Third Rate Romance".

The concert, scheduled for Friday, July 10, 2026, will also include live music from popular local music acts Rafe Carlson and Ricky Carl. Both of these opening acts also put on a great show last year, being brought back again for 2026.

Music will start at 6 pm, with Sammy Kershaw rounding out the night.

This concert is part of the four-day Two Harbors Heritage Days schedule of events, which spans from July 9 through July 12, 2026. You can see the full weekend's schedule on the Heritage Days page on the City of Two Harbors website.
