UMD Students Raise Over $9,000 for the Kids of St. Jude
Here's another great story about a group of UMD students doing some good, an event over the weekend raised $9,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
According to our friends at WDIO, the Upsilon-Gamma Chapter of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Social Fraternity decided that instead of a winter banquet they would do a fundraiser for St. Jude.
The event which included dinner and a silent auction raised over $9,000 from the 180 attendees, this more than doubles the amount of money raised last year at the event.
St. Jude founder Danny Thomas was a member of TKE and the Fraternity raises millions of dollars for the hospital to help them reach his dream that "no child should die in the dawn of life."
