Vikings Legend Tells Team to “Back The Truck Up” for Justin Jefferson
One Minnesota Viking legend is making it very clear how the Vikings should handle Justin Jefferson's future with the team.
The superstar wide receiver is just about done with his rookie contract and is looking to become the highest paid WR in the NFL with a new contract, but are the Vikings ready to drop $150 million or more on him, Jared Allen thinks they should in a heartbeat.
This is the same Jared Allen that said he was "glad" that the Vikings didn't pay Kirk Cousins $45 million a year to stick around, "I don't think a mid-30s quarterback coming off an Achilles tear is where you want to spend your money."

Joining Kay Adams on her podcast 'Up & Adams', Allen said the Vikings should "100% pay him", "back the truck up" he said. Allen goes on to explain that Jefferson "changes the game", and assuming that newly drafted J.J. McCarthy will hopefully transition into a franchise quarterback for the Vikings, Jefferson is "a quarterback's best friend...you can not let him go."
NFL Reporter Adam Schefter said on ESPN's SportsCenter recently that he expects that a deal between the Vikings and Jefferson to get done, and will make him the highest paid non-QB in NFL history.
Another report is suggesting that the deal with Jefferson is just waiting on other deals around the NFL to get done, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler says that Jefferson's team is waiting on Dallas WR CeeDee Lamb to sign a new deal so that he doesn't end up getting paid more than Jefferson, it's all about the Benjamins baby!
