We Celebrated National Cereal Day By Making Our Own “Kelce Mix”
Today we celebrate a day that’s big for Minnesota, home to some of the world’s largest cereal manufacturers, National Cereal Day.
The most popular cereal in Minnesota, according to a recent study, is Cheerios, which also starred in our own special mix of cereal we concocted to mark the occasion.

A Cereal Collab with NFL Stars
Minnesota-based General Mills recently teamed up with NFL superstars and brothers Travis and Jason Kelce for a new cereal called the "Kelce Mix" that blends three of the brothers’ favorites.
Inspired Creation: The MIX Mix
We decided to take inspiration from this and came up with what we called the “MIX Mix,” a combo of Nick’s two favorites and Tony’s two favorites in one bowl of cereal heaven.

Nick added Cheerios and Trix, while Tony brought Cocoa Pebbles and Apple Jacks to the “MIX Mix.” After pouring in the milk, we dug into the bowl of sugary goodness.
Tasting the Minnesota Mashup
Initially, the fruity flavor of the Trix hit hard, but over time the mildness of the Cheerios started to balance things out. I could then taste hints of chocolate, apples, and cinnamon from the other cereals.
Final Thoughts on Mixing It Up
Overall, it was good, but as Nick pointed out, it was more work than I’m willing to put into enjoying a bowl of cereal. If mixing cereals is your thing, it’d be easier to premix everything into a separate container ahead of time.
