Where Did the Famous Cherry from The Spoon in Minneapolis Go?
It is one of the most iconic landmarks in Minneapolis, and half of it is missing, where did the cherry from the "Spoonbridge and Cherry" sculpture go?
Well, like most things outdoors in Minnesota, the dramatic changes in weather require the sculpture to be repainted every 8-10 years, and this is one of the years. Yesterday, crews removed the cherry and put it on a truck for a cross-country trip.
The cherry won't be gone for too long though, look for its return in a couple of months looking better than before with a fresh coat of cherry red paint on the nearly 1,200-pound cherry.

Check out this video of crews removing the cherry and learn more about the cherry, including some great photos, and where it's headed for restoration by scrolling down.
