Police body camera footage shows great work by officers in taking down a man who was threatening poll workers during election day. The 38-year-old man was demanding that workers stop the voting at a library.

The incident took place in West, Bend Wisconsin at the library polling place. Police were called and arrived on the scene. You can get a first-hand look at how police officers respond in high-stress situations like this.

The police enter the library and you can see that there are still people in the lobby area away from the man. Their faces have been blurred by the authorities for privacy.

The officer identifies the suspect at the counter and says, "Sir drop the knife, back away, get down on the ground with your palms out, and do it now!" The man complied.

He asked if he had anything in his backpack, and the suspect told him he had 4 box cutters. The officer told him, "Do not reach for your backpack, if you do you will be shot." Who knows what could actually be in the backpack?

The officer also has enough awareness to see that there are children in the back corner of the library and directs them to get to a safe place.

The suspect follows orders without incident. He even tells the officers they can cut the backpack. The man says that he was acting alone. The police then swept the rest of the library.

Police asked if the man needed any medical attention, and he says he probably needs a "psych eval." That's short for a psychological evaluation, which I'm sure he got.

Good work by the West Bend, Wisconsin police on handling the situation. Law & Crime posted the video on their YouTube page.
