According to Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers bars and restaurants are not considered essential businesses and there for are to remain closed until the end of May, but the Wisconsin Tavern League is hoping to change that.  They are calling upon Evers to open bars on May 1.

According to WDIO the group argued that "bars, restaurants and supper clubs could reopen by implementing a variety of safety measures to protect against the spread of COVID-19. "

Governor Evers is facing increasing pressure from various businesses and Republican lawmakers to reduce the time of the stay-at-home-order which he extended last week from April 24 to May 26. Along with that we have seen protests in a variety of states including Wisconsin to end the order and open up all businesses again.
