Wisconsin’s Chris Kroeze Places Second On The Voice Season Finale

Way to make us proud! Barron, Wisconsin native Chris Kroeze came in second on 'The Voice' finale Tuesday night.

The Wisconsinite performed an original song during the final show Monday night, along with his own rendition of 'Sweet Home Alabama.' In the end, it wasn't enough to beat 16-year-old Chevel Shepherd, a member of Team Kelly.

The original tune is called 'Human' and it earned heaps of praise from the judges, including Shelton, who said he was jealous of the tune and wishes it was his own so he could cut it for himself.

While Kroeze may not have won the show, we still have no doubt that he will be very successful in the future and we couldn't be more proud of him!

If you haven't been following his journey, let us fill you in: Kroeze quickly became a judge and fan favorite when he auditioned for The Voice a few months back. He ultimately found his place on Team Blake and since then, has been consistently strong week after week, cruising through to the final show.

The musician also used his newfound fame for good during his tenure, bringing attention to Jayme Closs, the missing 13-year-old from Barron, by dedicating one of his performances to her and bringing the case into the nationwide public eye.

Kroeze's songs were the most streamed the last few weeks of the competition and placed high on the iTunes charts. That original tune we mentioned peaked at number three on the charts.

As if all of these accomplishments weren't awesome enough, he is also the first person from Wisconsin to make it to the finals of the show.
