Wisconsin’s Lumberjack World Championships Announces Important 2025 Change
Organizers for the Lumberjack World Championships, hosted in Hayward, Wisconsin, announced some important news for their upcoming 2025 event.
In a press release put out Friday afternoon (October 25), organizers announced they will be moving the dates for their 2025 championship event to earlier in the summer from their initially scheduled dates of July 31-August 2, 2025.
The team behind the Lumberjack World Championships in Hayward explained that the change of dates was necessary due to "scheduling conflicts with key competition vendors".
In order to "provide the highest quality competition to athletes and spectators" for this international event, the decision was made to look for a new set of dates for the 2025 event, which will be the 65th annual world championship.
The newly-announced dates will see the 2025 Lumberjack World Championships happening two weeks earlier, with the competition taking place from Thursday, July 17 through Saturday, July 19, 2025.
The 2025 event will see athletes competing in a combined total of 24 different events, including things like axe throwing, speed climbing, sawing, logrolling, boom running, and chopping.
The event's website has already been updated to reflect the new schedule for the 2025 event.
The event will get underway on Thursday (July 17) with an amateur logrolling competition at 8 am through 11 am. From there, the festival grounds open for the weekend at 11:30 am and qualifier events and preliminary competitions will start between 11:30 and noon.
