‘Jersey Shore’ cast member DJ Pauly D has been announced as a special guest on the tour for a short string of August dates, running from the Grand Rapids, Michigan show on August 17 through Charlotte, N.C. on August 25. He joins a crowded slate of opening acts that includes Jessie and the Toy Boys, Nervo and Nicki Minaj.
Cher’s musical career has been fairly low profile since she scored a massive late ’90s hit with ‘Believe,’ but her influence continues to be felt in the larger-than-life style of many younger artists — including Lady Gaga, who’s planning to acknowledge that debt with a duet that just might melt the dance floor.
They’re teaming up to record ‘The Greatest Thing,’ a song Gaga offered Cher for her upcoming album.
Gomez, along with Ryan Seacrest, helped with the recent launch of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s new media center, christened The Voice. The center includes a recording studio, so Gomez joined an adorable young heart patient named Julia for a performance of her single ‘Who Says.’
The next time you’re at the karaoke machine, choose your song carefully — you never know who might be listening.
That was the lesson learned by guests at a Malibu, California wedding last Friday, when none other than Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez dropped by. As it turns out, the star lovebirds were apparently driving past the reception when they heard someone singing Bieber’s ‘One Less Lonely Girl,’ and decided to have a closer listen.
According to a report published in the National Enquirer, Spears isn’t even aware of the Groupon deals. A source says “Britney thinks everything is going great” and calls her “clueless.” Insults aside, it does seem unlikely that LiveNation would be offering half-off tickets to the shows if they were selling out at their regular prices.
She’s one of the most successful recording artists of the last decade, so you might think Lady Gaga could settle down and stop looking for additional work — but the pop star, who was already moonlighting as Polaroid’s creative director, is adding “fashion designer intern” to her list of jobs.
Reportedly, Ms. Gaga will be working for British hat maven Philip Treacy, whose chapeaus have memorably graced the domes of Princess Beatrice, Sarah Jessica Parker, and others. According to Treacy, he’s already met with Gaga to discuss the details.
MTV dropped in on Lee at her Nashville studio recently, and they discussed the new, self-titled album — scheduled for an October 11 release — as well as its lead single, ‘What You Want.’ According to Lee, the writing process is much more natural this time around.
Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift lead the pack, with five and six nominations, respectively. Other stars boasting multiple nods — drawn across the pop culture spectrum, including movies, music, television, fashion, and sports — are Justin Bieber, Adele, Lady Gaga, and Eminem.

With 3.5 million copies sold and chart-topping radio play around the world, Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep’ is arguably the song of 2011. You just can’t escape it these days — not even if you’re in the audience for a Linkin Park concert.
At a recent fan club show, band members Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda unveiled their unplugged version of ‘Rolling in the Deep,’ stripping it down to acoustic guitar and vocals. It offered not only a new take on the song, but a rarely seen side of Linkin Park, a band that has sold more than 50 million units (and won a pair of Grammys) on the strength of its loud, rap-tinged brand of rock.
On his recently released new album, ‘Alpocalypse,’ Yankovic spoofed Swift’s ‘You Belong With Me,’ renaming it ‘TMZ’ and subbing in paparazzi-tweaking lyrics like “You’re sorta famous, a minor celebrity / And so it only makes sense the world would be / Obsessed with every single thing you do … If they ever catch you picking your nose / Or stumbling the street on a drunken spree / You’re on TMZ.”
