Why Does the Bowling Hall of Fame Want to Induct Lil Wayne, Justin Bieber, and Lady Gaga?
Lil Wayne: Film star, entrepreneur, multiplatinum recording artist, and…hall of fame bowler?
The Bowling Proprietors Association of America (BPAA) thinks so — they’ve nominated the rapper for inclusion in the International Bowling Hall of Fame, along with Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and Michael Jordan.
Those probably aren’t names you think of when you think about bowling — but then, you may not think about bowling much at all, which is probably sort of the point. As Hall of Fame Chairman Keith Hamilton said in a statement announcing the nominations, “Each of these 2011 candidates has had a significant impact in helping to keep bowling as one of the nation’s most treasured pastimes.”
And while we can’t vouch for Kim Kardashian’s bowling skill, Lil Wayne actually knows his way around the lanes — in fact, he competed with Hall of Famer Norm Duke during All-Star Weekend this year.
Lil Wayne’s new album, ‘Tha Carter IV,’ is scheduled for an August 29 release.
