As we struggle to make sense of the death of Robin Williams, we've spent some time here remembering him as a person and his work. We're obviously just a few of the many, many people Robin Williams touched during his lifetime. Among them are the many people he worked with over the years, from his days as a guest star on 'Happy Days' to his upcoming role in 'Night at the Museum 3.' Below are some thoughts, prayers and remembrances from friends and family who had the pleasure of knowing him both on- and off-screen.
Harold Ramis, the star of 'Ghostbusters,' writer of 'Animal House' and director of 'Caddyshack' and 'Groundhog Day,' has died at the age of 69 in Chicago. Ramis had been suffering from autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis and had been in declining health since 2010.
"Welcome to the Tina Fey and Amy Poehler and Lee Daniels' 'The Butler' Golden Globes awards," chimed in the famous comediennes, who hosted the live awards ceremony on Sunday, January 12, for the second time. Having killed it with their hosting duties for last year's ceremony, the duo once again turned out some memorable jokes. Watch their full opening monologue from the 2014 Golden Globes awards right here!
Last week, Batkid took San Francisco (and the internet) by storm, as tens of thousands of volunteers worked together with the Make-a-Wish foundation to help fulfill the dream of Miles, a 5-year-old boy suffering from leukemia. Miles loves Batman so the entire town transformed into Gotham City and let Miles (as Batkid) help Batman defeat the Riddler and save the day. He's the hero we deserve and the hero we need right now, so it's only fitting Batkid should get his own movie poster.
We have our work cut out for us, getting you to watch a video of a marching band performing during halftime of a college football game. After all, that's when everyone leaves to get up, go to the bathroom and get a new beer. But this...THIS...you simply have to watch.
The Ohio State University Marching Band performed a tribute this weekend to 'Superman,' 'Jurassic Park,' 'Harry Potter,' 'Pirates of the Caribbean' and 'Lord of the Rings' that will give you chills. We don't want to give too much away, but let's just say there's pyrotechnics. And, the entire marching band turns into a dinosaur that marches and eats a guy.
As many people were flipping back and forth between the second-to-last episode of 'Breaking Bad' and the 2013 Emmy Awards, many assumed that Bryan Cranston would take home one last Best Actor Emmy for his work as Walter White. Those people (including us!) were wrong, as Jeff Daniels pulled off the upset of all upsets and won Outstanding Lead Actor for his work on 'The Newsroom.'
'2 Broke Girls' took the motto "sex sells" and used it to great effect for their 2013 Super Bowl commercial. There were no clips from the show, no jokes, no nothing really, except stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs pole dancing in revealing outfits. And it might've been the most effective commercial of the entire Super Bowl...
