Chris Brown and Drake are being sued by W.i.P. nightclub for $16 million stemming from their champagne-throwing brawl in June, which left several people injured. Greenhouse, owners of the popular New York club, filed the lawsuit on Wednesday (Aug. 15) in Manhattan Supreme Court, according to the New York Daily News.

In the suit, the owners blamed Breezy and Drizzy for the melee, which arose from their romantic involvement with Rihanna. Brown and Drake “began to fight violently with each other,” according to court papers. “Each ordered his security personnel, bodyguards, friends and entourage to join the fight.”

Of course, you know the rest of the story. The fracas led to several clubgoers getting injured including Brown’s bodyguard, an Australian tourist, a Brooklyn-area model and NBA superstar Tony Parker, who filed a $20 million lawsuit of his own against the club owners.

“Defendants overran the nightclub’s extensive security measures and the brawl overtook the entire space,” reads the lawsuit. “Terrorized patrons ran for cover… most were unable to protect themselves.”

Following the brawl, authorities did shut down W.i.P for a few weeks and the State Liquor Authority revoked the club’s license. The owners were able to retrieve their license back in court on a temporary basis as they promise the city to reopen the club with a stronger security presence.

Police are still investigating the case and have not made any arrests. Attorneys for Chris Brown or Drake had no comment on the matter.
