If nothing else, Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s upcoming Han Solo prequel / spinoff is going to look fantastic, as the duo have hired Bradford Young to serve as cinematographer. Okay, let’s be honest: With Lord and Miller on board and the incredibly charming Alden Ehrenreich in the lead role, it’s almost guaranteed that the next Star Wars anthology film will be pretty entertaining — but now we know it’s also going to look really, really, really good.

Chris Miller confirmed the news himself with this simple tweet:

Young is the talented cinematographer behind Ava DuVernay’s Selma, J.C. Chandor’s A Most Violent Year and, more recently, Arrival. Director Denis Villeneuve originally wanted to re-team with Sicario DP Roger Deakins for the new sci-fi drama, but Deakins was committed to the Coen BrothersHail, Caesar!, so Villeneuve opted to employ Young — he may not have been the first choice, but the cinematographer has established an increasingly impressive filmography over the last few years, making him a valuable asset for any production.

News regarding the Han Solo spinoff has been slowly trickling out over the last several months: In addition to Ehrenreich as Solo, we know that the upcoming Star Wars Story will also feature a younger version of Chewbacca, along with a young Lando Calrissian — rumor has it Donald Glover is Lord and Miller’s top pick. It’s also been reported that the production is looking for a non-white female lead to play Han’s love interest.

Lord and Miller’s untitled Han Solo project will hit theaters in 2018.
