The team at Spirit Mountain recently announced they are bringing back an event just for locals to get out and enjoy the ski hill on the edge of Duluth.

Billed as "Spirit Loves Duluth Days", the two-day event is returning for the fourth year. The event is designed to give Dulutians the opportunity to hit the hill in a low-cost fashion.

Spirit Mountain will be offering discounts on a number of activities as well as some freebies.

Discounts include $5 lift tickets, nordic tickets, rentals, and 1-hour tubing sessions on both days of this year's event. In addition to the inexpensive fun, free beginner lessons will be offered at different times during the two-day event.

The crew at Spirit Mountain has been working hard to keep making snow to allow skiers and snowboarders to continue to enjoy the hill during a winter when we haven't gotten a lot of natural snow. While there isn't much snow around the area, there certainly is on the hill for you to get out and enjoy!

This year's event will be on Thursday, February 22, and Sunday, February 25.

If you're planning on taking advantage of Spirt Loves Duluth Days, a couple of quick notes to be aware of - It is recommended you register for free lessons if you want one, as they are likely to fill up fast. You'll also need to purchase your tickets or rentals ahead of time, as they do sell out.

Proof of residency will also be required when picking up your purchase. Proof can include an ID, a utility bill, or some other proof of residency for the City of Duluth.

If you aren't a Duluth resident, they do remind everyone that this event is just for residents, saying "We still love and thank you for your support, but this event is only for Duluth residents."
