Stephen Colbert Signs Bill Clinton Up for Twitter, Whether He Wants to Be There or Not [VIDEO]
The interview was conducted at Clinton Global Initiative University, an annual convention for youths, which was held in Saint Louis this past weekend.
Clinton originally expressed his tweeting trepidation, explaining why he was nervous to get on board. “I think I’m so, sort of, insecure. Like … what if you tweet and nobody tweets back?” he asked. “There’s nothing worse than a friendless tweeter, right?”
“After I become president and everybody started sending blizzards of emails within the administration, the Congress subpoenaed them all,” Clinton said. "So some of these emails were mildly embarrassing.”
When prodded on why he's spent so much of his retirement engaged in humanitarian efforts, President Billy Jeff told Colbert that he wasn't good enough to play golf on the senior tour, "and I don’t play my saxophone as much as I used to so I don’t like to do it in public."
Too bad Twitter wasn't around in 1998. That would have made for some interesting live-tweeting.
