Sesame Street

Having recently been – rather unnecessarily – lambasted by a critic-whose-name-shall-not-be-mentioned for being overweight, Melissa McCarthy did what any awesome celebrity who’s very honey badger about the situation would do: She went on Sesame Street and showed off her sweet dance moves. And that girl can move.

On Monday, news broke that an unnamed 24-year-old man had accused Kevin Clash, who is the creator and puppeteer of Elmo on 'Sesame Street,' of engaging in a sexual relationship with him when he was 16. Today, that man has recanted his allegations.

Today is not a sunny day on Sesame Street. Kevin Clash, the voice actor and puppeteer behind Elmo, the show's most popular character, has taken an indefinite leave of absence following allegations the he had sexual relations with an underage boy.

On tomorrow's episode of Sesame Street look for a new Muppet character called Brandeis (bran-dice), a yellow Labrador retriever that is looking for a job on Sesame Street. After trying several jobs around the neighborhood, Bradeis finally finds a job as a service dog.

The Jim Henson Company who produces Sesame Street confirmed today that the puppeteer who played The Count, Jerry Nelson, has died at the age of 78.

So, almost everyone (including the Harvard Baseball Team, some creepy girl, Abercombie models, Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump and the Miss USA contestants) has done some sort of parody video tied to Carly Rae Jepsen's hit song "Call Me Maybe". Why not have Cookie Monster join the party?

Conan O'Brien, one of the most famous redheads, reached out to the folks at Sesame Street to propose an idea for an anti-bullying PSA aimed at those who make fun of redheads.  Well, Elmo and the gang delivered.  Hilarious!!!  

‘Sesame Street’ is known for its musical numbers but generally the lyrics lean a little more optimistic (“Sunny day / Sweeping the clouds away”) than the rhymes in the Beastie Boys single ‘Sure Shot’ (“I’ve got the brand new doo-doo / guaranteed like Yoo-Hoo”). Two of my favorite things Bert from Sesame Street and Andy Samberg who I think is hilarious. I loved as a kid watching Sesame Street as Burt would always get so mad. I would just wait for him to really lose it, ....never happened, which is good since it is a kids show after all...
