A power outage this afternoon that impacted the DECC and Amsoil Arena continues into the evening, forcing the game between UMD and Bemidji State tonight to be moved to a date to be mutually decided on in the future.

Minnesota Power reported the outage happened this afternoon, caused accidentally by a contractor.

Electricity is used as part of the ice cooking system, and with the power being out, deteriorating ice was a major concern in this decision. Generators have been running, but they are not powerful enough to handle the ice cooling system.

UMD announced the game would be moved to a later date, with the tickets to tonight's game being honored on the rescheduled date.
