According to a press release from the city of Duluth the Oliver Bridge will be closed in both directions on Tuesday March 13th to repair a sewer manhole on McCuen Street and 96th Avenue West.

The reason they are closing the Oliver Bridge is because the manhole is in the middle of the street and so for safety reasons the city will be closing both lanes of traffic for the day.

For people who use the Oliver Bridge on a regular basis this is a minor inconvenience compared to the two year project that has finally wrapped up on the bridge. During this closure there will be no access to and from Wisconsin via the Oliver Bridge due to the repair. The road closure is expected to begin at 9 am with plans to reopen to traffic by 8 pm.
