American Idol Versus The Voice

I  was a huge fan of American Idol, but I must say the shine has worn off. It is still interesting to me to watch undiscovered talent, and put my guess in as to who will win the competition, but I must say my new favorite is the show The Voice.  I love the fact that the contestants are judged purely on the sound of their voice alone, and not how they look. It is human nature to judge a book by it's cover, but for many people that can hurt them.

Now in case you are not familiar with the show, they have a panel of coaches....Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton. All stars in their own right. The premise of the show is they have their back to the singers and if they like what they here they spin around and try to get them on their prospective team to mentor.   Now, not to say these future artists won't be judged by looks down the road, but at least they have a leg up out of the gate.
