Bayfield Chamber Urgently Trying To Raise Money To Avoid Cancellation Of 2027 Fireworks Show

The Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau is making an urgent plea to the community to help raise some money to cover an upcoming fireworks goal that could impact next year's 4th of July show.

The Bayfield Chamber has an August 1 goal to raise $1,896 in order to preserve the 2027 Independence Day fireworks show.

The annual fireworks show is completely funded by individual donations, a 50/50 raffle, and business contributions into a fund. There still remains a gap in the fundraising efforts to pay for the 2026 show, which is leaving next year's fireworks in question.

The Ashland Daily Press reports that the 2026 show at Memorial Park in Bayfield to celebrate the 250th birthday of the country cost $20,000.

While a majority of that dollar amount has been covered by money raised, there has remained a shortcoming in paying off the rest of that dollar amount.

As of August 13, there was a $4,866 gap, which has been reduced to $1,896 as of today (July 24) as fundraising efforts have continued.

The Bayfield Chamber says they have until August 1 to come up with that remaining $1,896, or they may have to reconsider next year's fireworks show.

The Bayfield Chamber is urging local businesses, residents, and visitors to the area to help keep the tradition alive by making a donation to the fund. They have a donation page set up, where donations via PayPal, Venmo, or debit/credit card can be made.

The Bayfield Chamber's Public Relations Manager commented to FOX 21, saying, "We're so close now to getting the rest of the funds, and it is a tradition for many people, so we really would like to keep that momentum going. We want to keep the fireworks going."

With a week to meet the goal, there is limited time before the Chamber would need to reassess plans for 2027.
