The City of Duluth has announced that they are closing a pedestrian bridge because of structural integrity concerns.

The wooden pedestrian bridge that connects to the area known as "The Deeps" in Lester Park is being closed.

The city said that the bridge across Amity Creek is being barricaded due to "cracks in the support beam, rotting, and missing rocks from the abutment. The bridge will need to be replaced next summer pending administrative review from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources."
