Duluth’s Spirit Mountain Needs Your Help to Win $100,000 Bike Trail Grant

With a little help from the public, biking in Duluth could see some exciting additions and improvements. The Spirit Mountain Bike Park is a regional finalist in a competition Bell Helmets is sponsoring, where they will offer $100,000 to be put toward building or improving a bike trail or riding area.

The Duluth bike project is one of three competitors in the Midwest Region of the contest, going up against two riding areas in New Mexico. A winner from the Midwest region will be announced after voting wraps up May 10.

A West Coast regional winner has already been announced, and East Coast regional voting will begin once the Midwest voting is complete. Once the East Coast regional voting is wrapped up, the three regional finalists will face off in a voting contest for the $100,000 from May 25 through June 5.
