Duluth Icon Passes Suddenly After A Half Century Of Serving His Community
The passing of Gordy Beier has northlanders surprised and saddened. According to his obituary in the Duluth News Tribune, Gordy passed away suddenly on July 4th.
Gordy is a well known entrepreneur in his community, with one of his biggest successes being Gordy's Gift and Garden Center, located in Hermantown, Minnesota.
Gordy's Gift and Garden Center started out as Gordy's Farm Market 48 years ago. It was one of a kind in the area, offering the freshest produce and flowers in the area. The farm market also has a huge candy display and special gifts unique to Gordy's.
Over the years, Gordy's has become a staple in the community. They offer exotic plants, garden decor, hanging baskets, fruit trees, and so much more. It's easy to spend time and money there; they have something for everyone.
Gordy's even has their own line of sauces, salsas, jams, and drink mixes. Their selection of unique and distinctive gifts will amaze just about anyone.
If you'd like to pay your respects, a visitation (12pm) and funeral service (1pm) will be held for Gordy on Saturday, July 8th at the Peace United Church of Christ. A burial ceremony will be held at the Sunrise Cemetery following the funeral service. Join Gordy's family and friends at the AAD Shrine building for a luncheon following the burial.
Please note that Gordy's Gift and Garden Center will be closed July 8th and 9th in honor of Gordy and his family.
Many warm thoughts are extended to his family and friends during this difficult time. Thank you, Gordy, for all the wonderful years you gave to your community!
