Duluth's Skywalk system is temporarily closed until mid-April.

According to a press release from the City of Duluth, the Skywalk system will remain closed due to Governor Walz's Stay At Home order. The closure, as of now, will remain in effect until Monday, April 13th.

For this extended period of time, the system will be closed in its entirety with the exception of the Northwest Passage from the Transportation Center to the DECC parking ramp.

The Skywalk closure went into effect at 7 p.m. Friday, March 27th - the same day Governor Walz's order went into effect.

City officials acknowledge that while this is inconvenient, it is also necessary. In the meantime, essential employees will need to use the street to gain access to parking structures and buildings.

Governor Walz's order calls for the public to stay home and practice social distancing, with the exception of essential workers and important errands, such as picking up a prescription and getting groceries. The order remains in effect until Friday, April 10th.
