Duluth YMCA Giving Away 100 Youth Memberships Friday
Summertime is here, and to celebrate, the Duluth YMCA is giving away some free youth summer memberships to keep kids active and give them something to do this summer.
At the Duluth YMCA location, they will be giving away 100 free youth summer memberships, courtesy of a donation from Western Bank. These memberships are valid for kids going into 8th through 12th grade, and they're giving them away Friday (today) only. These summer memberships are valid starting June 7, and will remain valid through the first day of school. They will be available on a first come, first served basis during Friday's normal business hours at their location at 302 W 1st Street in Duluth.
To get one of these memberships, youth must have a state or school-issued photo ID and cannot already be a member at the YMCA. The child(ren) and a parent or guardian must come to the YMCA to sign up for the membership. While you do have to visit their downtown location to get the membership, you can call with questions at (218) 722-4745.
According to a post on the Duluth YMCA's Facebook page, the donation/partnership between the Duluth YMCA and Western Bank sets out to combat summer learning and fitness loss by giving young people a safe place to go and be active during summer vacation.
If you've never been to the Duluth YMCA before, the facility features things like basketball and volleyball courts, pool and whirlpool, racquetball and handball courts, rock wall, indoor track, and a full wellness center that includes cardio machines, free weights, and other equipment.
