FEMA Map Shows Potential Nuclear Targets In Wisconsin
It’s hard to wrap your head around the idea of the world changing completely in just a few hours, but that’s exactly what could happen if nuclear weapons ever start flying.
If one country launches a nuke, chances are the other side would strike back, and from there, it’s game over. Things could spiral fast, and the threat of total collapse becomes very real in a matter of hours.
In 2015, a map was leaked that showed a list of potential nuclear targets in the United States, the map was significant because it was put together by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), although FEMA denies the map was put together by them, it certainly looks authentic and the targets match up with what many experts think are actual targets a country like Russia or China would be likely to hit in the event of a nuclear attack.

List of Nuclear Targets in Wisconsin
Let's take a look at what cities in Wisconsin are most likely to be targeted:
Milwaukee / Racine Area
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's most populated metro area, and the area that includes Racine is an industrial hub for the state and the region, home to many important manufacturing and industries, the Milwaukee / Racine area would be a top target.
Two Rivers / Manitowoc
You might be wondering why the Two Rivers and Manitowoc area on the shores of Lake Michigan would be a target, energy is the reason. Two Rivers is home to Wisconsin's only operational nuclear power plant, the Point Beach Nuclear Plant produces 16.5% of all electricity in Wisconsin, so you can see why it would be a valuable target.
Madison
Madison might not be the first place hit in a nuclear strike, but in a full-blown nuclear war, most state capitals would be on the list—so it’s pretty likely Madison would be targeted too.
Fort McCoy
Wisconsin's only military base is Fort McCoy, which is located in between Tomah and Sparta. The Army base has 60,000 acres that they use for large scale training exercises, and being in Wisconsin the base can offer training in all 4-seasons. Most military installations would be hit first in a nuclear exchange between superpowers.
Superior
The city of Superior would unlikely to be a target, but neighboring Duluth would most certainly be one of the first targets as it is home to the 148th Fighter Wing, and any strike on that base which is located at the Duluth International Airport would also destroy Superior.
