Opening up at number one this weekend was 'Backdraft' starring Kurt Russell and William Baldwin. The film was about two Chicago firefighter brothers who don't get along but have to work together to stop a dangerous arsonist that's on the loose. The film was very successful grossing over $150 million and was nominated for three Academy Awards.

On this day in 1991 golfer Betsy King won the LPGA Corning Golf Classic. The longest running tournament on the LPGA tour with a single sponsor.

Hip-hop group P.M. Dawn released 'Set Adrift on Memory Bliss' as their second single off their debut album. The song was built around samples of Spandau Ballet's 1983 hit 'True' and a few other songs. The song was their only number one hit and stayed there for three weeks.
