Today we go back to 1997 to go to the future and watch Bruce Willis save Earth, find out David Duchovny and Tea Leoni tied the knot, and remember B.I.G. as he releases his first number one hit after his death.

The sci-fi action film 'The Fifth Element' starring Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich opened up at number one at the box office this weekend. The film took place in the 23rd century where a cab driver and a former special forces major join forces to recover four mystical stones to save planet Earth. Writer Luc Besson started writing the movie when he was sixteen and finally saw his film on the big screen when he was 38. The film was a huge success earning over $263 million dollars at the box office and was nominated for an Academy Award.

On this day in 1997 David Duchovy from the 'X-Files' marries actress Tea Leoni at a church in Greenwich Village.

The Notorious B.I.G. may have passed away, but that didn't stop him from getting a number one hit. His song 'Hypnotize' was the first single off his 'Life After Death' album and became the fifth song to go number one to be released after the artist has passed.
