Martha Stewart Just Visited Small-Town Wisconsin And It’s Kind Of Legendary
Wisconsin is known for a lot of things: cheese, beer, beer cheese, and of course the Packers. You can now add bathtubs to that list. The state is home to a premier factory that specializes in cast iron tubs and has partnered with a legendary lifestyle expert.
Kohler’s Historic Roots In Wisconsin
Kohler, Wisconsin is home to Kohler Co., makers of faucets, showers, sinks, toilets, and classic cast iron bathtubs. Those bathtubs are now endorsed by media personality, entrepreneur, and home expert Martha Stewart.

The 84-year-old Stewart and Kohler formed a partnership last year for a line of enameled cast iron tubs. She recently visited the historic foundry in Wisconsin alongside renowned photographer and director Douglas Friedman.
The Story Behind “The Forge”
The commercial, called "The Forge," is a nod to Kohler’s long history with cast iron. In 1883, company founder John Michael Kohler transformed an ordinary cast iron horse trough into the company’s first enameled bathtub.
Stewart said, "It is with great pleasure I continue my work as Kohler's Cast Iron Ambassador with this new campaign, which captures the drama and flourish inherent in this masterful process."
Kohler says its cast iron is composed of at least 80 percent recycled material and reflects a longstanding commitment to sustainable manufacturing and artistry designed to withstand the test of time.
It is also notable that Kohler remains family-led. David Kohler serves as CEO and represents the fourth generation of Kohler family leadership.
It is always great to see a globally recognized name shine a spotlight on a Wisconsin company that continues to blend history, craftsmanship, and sustainability in the Badger State.
