People in Minnesota pride themselves on being kind and courteous, at least to your face, but I have seen a disturbing trend lately.

This trend is down and out rude people. I can't believe that these "rudies", as I am dubbing them, are  all from out town and I need to get to the bottom of this.

Case #1- We are living off a temporary detour area right now and so their is a ton of traffic. I cannot think of anything more annoying then people pulling up and blocking a road as you need to turn. This has happened to me at least 20 times in the last 2 weeks. I am proud to say that I have stayed composed, no naughty finger gestures , yelling or even the stink eye. But c'mon, this is common sense people.  Don't block the road, you can wait a few seconds to pull up to the car behind you!

Case #2- Not letting someone go ahead of you in line at the grocery store who only has a few items, and you have a full cart. This again is common sense and in some parts of the country they don't care, but we do MN! Again this has happened to be a number of times in the recent past. So, here I sit jockeying between the 10 items and under lane and a regular one. If I am holding 2 bulky or heavy items, this does not make for a good time.

The Northland is a tourist mecca, not only for the beauty of the area and a lot of great things to do, but because the people here are equally awesome. Don't keep letting me down people...BE NICE!
