A lot of artists released some great music this year and it's time for me to break down my favorites songs from 2016.

My musical interests are all over board as I listen to almost anything, except for country. A lot of artists surprised me this year too. Without further ado, here are my favorite songs of the year.

    Twenty One Pilots - 'Heathens'

I've been a fan of the Pilots since day one, all their songs have an unique sound and that's easily the case with this one. The song is slower, a little eerie and almost hypnotizes you. It's a great track and the perfect fit for the DC blockbuster 'Suicide Squad".

Rae Sremmurd ft. Gucci Mane - 'Black Beatles' (NSFW)

Highly popularized by the mannequin challenge for some reason, this song blew up. I've never been a fan of Rae Sremmurd, but there's something captivating about this song, especially when the hook kicks in. I can't quite explain it, but it's definitely a jam to just go on a drive and test out the levels of your car speakers.

    Lady Gaga - 'Million Resons'

Huge Gaga fan and I think she knocked her 'Joanne' album out of the park. Every time I hear this song, I instantly get goosebumps. It has a very nice folk rock sound to it and I can't stop listening to it.

    Lil Dicky - 'Molly' (NSFW)

My personal pick for new artist of the year, hands down is Lil Dicky. I'm definitely a Dickhead and his 'Professional Rapper' album was off the charts. I love my rap as real as it can get, and you can tell Dave Burd poured his heart out on this track. With the lead singer of Panic! At The Disco Brendon Urie, this is an instant classic in my eyes.

The Chainsmokers Ft. Halsey - 'Closer'

How could this song not be number one? I just feel like this song is everything you've ever wanted and just sucks you in as soon as it starts. I've heard it well over 100 times and I still can't get enough. It's very captivating and leaves you wanting more. It's also one of the best duets I've ever heard.
