New Minnesota Twins Infielder Has A Very Famous Cousin

If you don't know much about baseball, you at least know a few famous names from Hollywood, right? It turns out one new member of the Minnesota Twins has a big Hollywood connection!

I don't know much about sports but I follow pop culture so I always see some ties between the two from time to time. Here's a great example: a cast member on a popular reality show rocked some Minnesota Twins gear on a recent episode of the hit.

Another fun example comes from early 2022, when Jon Hamm paid Minnesota a visit for the NHL Winter Classic. He was spotted bar hopping in Minneapolis over the course of his time in town, rocking his favorite hockey team gear.

Then, of course, we have Alex Rodriguez sightings in Minnesota from time to time. As part owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves, he is frequently seen at games. He also shares the occasional photo of him doing Minnesota things as well, like hanging on a lake.

This has to be one of the coolest sports pop culture connections yet. The player with the famous family is Jose Miranda! He was recently called up as infielder after two players were played on the injured list.

According to Bring Me The Sports, Miranda has had major success in the minor leagues over the years and is the Twins' third ranked prospect. He also has a famous cousin: Lin Manuel Miranda!

Miranda has rocketed to fame over the past few years thanks to Broadway's Hamilton. He is the original creator and star of the project. He has won a Pulitzer Prize, Emmy and Tony with only two awards to go to the most prestigious title in Hollywood: the EGOT! He is also a composer and actor.

More recent projects include Encanto, which we ALL know about thanks to the catchy songs. Ha! He worked on the music for the film, which became one of the biggest hits in Hollywood as of late. He also helped Andrew Garfield score an Oscar nomination this year for his role in Tick, Tick...Boom! He was the director for that film which went on to score many prestigious awards and nominations throughout award season.

By the way, Jose Miranda is the younger cousin of Lin-Manuel Miranda. Who knows - maybe we will see the award-winning superstar in the stands one day!
