New Pay by Plate Stations Make Downtown Duluth Parking Easy
The remodeled look on Superior Street in Downtown Duluth includes new lighting, colored and stamped concrete finishes, and new easy to use parking.
Parking meters have been replaced with several “pay by plate” stations on every block making downtown parking even easier and more efficient. The rates will remain the same a quarter for every 20 minutes. However, Pay by Plate parking stations requires drivers to enter a license plate number and use either cash or a credit card as forms of payment.
So start remembering your license plate, or just take a picture of it and have it on your smart phone camera to make things a little easier. Current users of the free “Duluth Park” app should already have their license plate entered and can simply open up the app, enter the parking zone number and time needed, pay and then be on your way. The app will also send you a notification when your time is about to expire.
This new system becomes fully operational the week of November 26, but in the meantime. Duluth Parking Staff will be enforcing time limits but will practice leniency during the interim period.
