When Is Pedro’s Planning To Open Their New Duluth Location? What Will Be Different?
Last Wednesday (December 3) marked the end of Madhouse Burgers' short-lived tenure in their Woodland location in Duluth.
The space, which had been co-occupied by Chilly Billy's Frozen Yogurt, shut down both operations on December 3, sharing with the public that while they would be leaving the space, a new restaurant occupant is making plans to move in.
As a matter of fact, Madhouse says the owners of Pedro's Grill and Cantina in Cloquet and Superior actually approached Madhouse about taking the space over.
Pedro's has been a long-time Twin Ports area Mexican cuisine favorite, having a home in Cloquet for years now, and more recently expanding to a location in Superior. Pedro's has a slightly different concept for this new Duluth location.

They're calling it Sabor by Pedro's, which the owners say will be a different twist on the popular offerings of the Cloquet and Superior restaurant locations.
Compared to the two aforementioned locations, the new location in the Mount Royal Market area at 1608 Woodland Avenue in Duluth is a smaller space. As our news partners at FOX 21 report, the new Duluth location will be "an extension of Pedro's", bringing something new to the Twin Ports area, all inspired by what has made the brand popular.
The new Sabor by Pedro's will feature brunch items and "fun Mexican dishes" at the core of their menu offerings. It sounds like some of their most popular menu items will be available at this new location, with the addition of some new creations. Personally, I hope their legendary queso and awesome salsa are still the same. 10/10 would recommend both of them.
As for when the new Pedro's spinoff will open, the wait won't be too lengthy. After some quick remodeling of the Madhouse space, the owners hope to have Sabor by Pedro's open sometime within the next two months or so, which puts them opening perhaps sometime in February, if all goes as planned.

As for Chilly Billy's and Madhouse, the owners of Chilly Billy's plan to focus on their remaining locations at the Miller Hill Mall and in Superior. As for Madhouse, they say they are "exploring new possibilities that better fit our overall vision and allow us to operate in a healthier and more sustainable way."
What that means remains unclear at this time, but they tease that there is more to come.
