Popular Superior Gift Shop To Close Permanently
The popular gift shop, Cedar Barn located in Superior, has announced it will close.
A few weeks ago another Northland business announced that it will close its doors. Northland Spay and Neuter in Duluth was the first spay/neuter clinic in the state of Minnesota to offer services to privately owned animals, and has provided this service for the Northland for the past 13 years.
The Cedar Barn located at 1424 Tower Avenue in Superior didn't always go by that name. According to FOX 21, they first operated as 'Up North Sundries' before rebranding to Cedar Barn just last year. The gift shop has been selling quality goods in that location for around 10 years.
According to their website, this is their mission:
To provide merchandise people want and love. From candles to gourmet candy, to even equipping your sauna for the perfect "me time". Or maybe it's been a week and you're for something just for you. Maybe looking for something unique that says "hey look where I was!" Or even something special for someone special. Whatever is, the way you do you is our business. Stop in and say hi. Adventure awaits right here, at Tower Avenue in Superior.
The shop announced its closure on its Facebook page:
The gift shop is currently running a "Clearance Lost Our Lease Sales". Looks like all merchandise will be 50% and that includes:
- All displays
- Glass cube shelving
- Shelving units
- Grid wall
Excluded items from the sale include:
- Soda pop
- Sauna items & accessories
- Finnish cutlery
- Finnish glass
The clearance sale will go until everything is sold or until their closure date of January 31st, 2023, whichever comes first. It also looks like POS and displays are cash only as well. You can check out their Facebook post below:
Again, according to FOX21, Cedar Barn plans on making an online store to continue to sell their items, but plans for another storefront are still in question. The decision to close was due to the rising rent on their lease.
